Jimmy’ traveler renovation

Survey the car; it revealed that there was a lot of rust, in the floor pans. They had been plated over at some time in the past.

The chassis cross member is badly corroded, and is split where the fuel pipe runs through it.

More corrosion by the outer sill area.

Next job is to cut out the floor pans on the near side, leaving the outer sills in place to leave some strength in the car.

A photo of the rear  floor pan area.

Cutting the floor away from the N/S chassis leg.I used a 5inch grinder first with a cutting stone to cut out the old metal either side of the leg. Then I changed the stone to a grinding wheel and ground out the spot welds.
